Five Lieutenants was the fifty ninth book of 2015, which I enjoyed.

I chose this book as something to break up my usual reading a bit.  Five Lieutenants reviews the challenges and struggles of five dough boys from Harvard fighting through the horridness of the Great War (now known as World War I).  I read this to understand what the celebration of Veteran’s Day was originally about.  The celebration of those who fought, died, survived, and returned from World War I.

I enjoyed this book, it was a harder read for me because of the challenges described and the things that we take for granted in the information age.  It also highlights the development of aviation in warfare somewhat which, again today, we take significantly for granted.

Five Lieutenants is a recommended read and you can grab it here.
