I was finally able to put together what I wanted to do with the Keep Calm and Carry On trio of posters I wrote about from Barter Books and the poster history from World War II. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. For that white boarder I used a very thick matting which really makes the solid red, green, and blue colors pop. The Keep Calm font on this poster is perfect. I think my framed Keep Calm Carry On is fairly impressive looking especially compared to what the Barter Books folks did. Do you think they could have done the job in Britain, during the war, for them to stay calm?
I like each of these posters but if I had to rank them I’d put them in the following order:
- Keep Calm and Carry On
- Freedom is in Peril – Defend it with all your Might
- Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your Resolution – Will Bring Us Victory
